Special lug nut ... w/ no socket! HELP!

I recently bought a 92 se-r from a guy about 5 hours away. Well anyways, i didnt notice it had special lug nuts that require the special socket for them to take them off... basically they're a theft deterrant or anti-theft lug nuts so someone cant jack your rims... well anyways, ive contacted the seller several times and i cant get ahold of him. My main problem is, i need to have the front set off so i can take the drive shafts out, so i can drop the tranny and engine.... but i cant cause i cant get the wheels off. Any ideas on how to get those lug nuts off? there is only 1 special one per wheel. I was thinking maybe spot weld a short maybe 6" rod to the socket on the top, and get a cheater bar and try to pry it off... anyone have any suggestions? thanks
