Alternator replacement is one of those seemingly simply jobs that can be a real PITA. I've done this now many times on B13's and B14's. There's no need to remove any hose or raise the motor.

Obviously you have not swapped out a NX alternator. Upper radiator hose and bracket must me taken out, leading to rebleeding the cooling system of air, really sucks...
