I consideried this after I broke two cables and I saw this thread and learned that a P11/B15 trans fits all sr20s, but time, money, and the fact that my car is my dd have kept it a pipe dream, so I never mentioned it (at least I don't think I have). I havent done any research into it at all except for I looked up the cost of parts, and that was a long time ago and I lost the paper I wrote it down on.

I will soon have the time, money, and a new car as my daily, so if I don't sell my SE for a down payment, I'm going for the whole shebang. B15/ P11 trans with Nismo LSD and hydro clutch. Oh and It'll be attached to a DET. now about passing emissions...Anyway, get ready for lots of stupid calls from me again, Greg.

I'm pretty wary of the particulars *** such as how to mount the different pedal assy (is it bolt on or do I need to weld custom brackets on the firewall? can I buy a bolt on bracket from the dealer?), pedal positioning, and where the master cyl would go (there's basically no room between the firewall and the wheel well). I haven't seen under the hood of a P11/ b15 in a long time, so I don't know all that is involved. If anyone has any insight to this, please share.

Of course its possible, but how much customization is necessary and is it worth it? That is the question. IMO anything is better than a sticky feeling, 80lb pedal pressure clutch and replacing a cable every year. stupid aftermarket clutches

also, what I get from this thread (basically what Vogel has implied) is that the trans of a QG18, a B15 SE w/o pp, and a G20 are the same. And the trans from a G20t and B15 SE w/pp are the same (disregarding gear ratios) and that all of these mount up to SR20s (and therefore QG18s too).

so the splines and mount points are the same, but input shafts on the newer trannies have a deeper chamfer (which would require a different pilot bushing on any other trans) but since there are two bearings on the interior of the trans to resist thrust in both directions a pilot bushing is unnecessary?

Also, casings of the QG18 trannies are just as strong as the 2000 and up P11/B15pp trannies. the only major diference is the differential part of the casing.

all of these trannies (lsd and non-lsd) have aftermarket LSDs available, both from nismo and jgy/fpg (from what I recall Quaife only makes LSDs to replace the B14/P10 vlsd)

about the sensor wiring... So all you need to do is cut the old plug from the car's harness and solder the two clipped wires (orientation be damned) to the P11/B15 trans switch pins and fill the rest of the plug socket with RTV for water resistance?

Finally, are an uncanny number of paragraphs needed to keep things clear when posting in this thread?

thanks everyone
