google tells me this thread might indicate that 2200 gained serial support. but i wouldnt trust anything either way before its been attempted.

your quite correct, datascan is only for laptop.

i made the laptop version to help test things id use for the pocket pc version (i use all the same controls and code for laptop as i do for pocketpc, except the actual interface)

i released it for free as i saw it might be useful for those with in car pc's or widescreens (laptop or carpc) which the gauges adapt to quite well. as i see it this is the main advantage over others, is that u can choose a number of gauges and they will be shown with as much screen usage as possible. i mean i could have not released the laptop version in order to not have people think "oh this is sh*t, datascan is better", but im not concerned about that, so if someone can make use of the laptop software, even if its just the carpc or widescreen laptop crowd, then im glad i released it, no matter how inferior it may be perceived to the alternatives.

if i was solely making a laptop version id could be much more complete by now, but i saw that the only pocket pc version of consult software was a bit of a ripoff at $600, so thought it was more useful for me to spend my time making an alternative to that, as opposed to focusing on laptop versions of which there is already 5 or so decent alternatives.

that there is finally an alternative to the $600 ecuextend ppc software, and its free i think is great in itself, and i really dont mind, and i conceed that there is better laptop software available
