I would recommend a person clean the VC with sandpaper as mentioned, don't use a wire brush, you'll impregnate the aluminum with steel and that steel will rust. Then wash the area to be painted with Alumaprep, and then rinse with clean water. Alumaprep is an adhestion promoter that allows paint to stick to aluminum. Then use the high temp paint and clearcoat, as high temp as you can find. I'd try to use all the same temp resistance, because any lower temp stuff is going to be your weak point, and anything on top of it will peel when it gives way.
