Detonation sounds like when one has marbles in a metalic container, from what you are telling me it sure sounds like the car is detonating. To be certain look at you plugs and see if you see any black peppery flakes on the porcelain. Also another sure indicator is to drain the oil and see if there is a nice silver finish on top of the oil as it settles in the oil changing pan.
If you need me to point you to a little device (which is easy to construct) in order for you to hear closer detonation in the engine let me know.

I turned down the boost to 7psi and it is still making the noise. The clicking noise is
so sharp, that I can literally feel my ear drums vibrating from the noise. Does that sound like detonating to you?
I am thinking it has to do with the exhaust hanger I made (I think the washers are loose and clicking). My downpipe is like millimeters away from the front swaybar, not sure if that could be causing the noise.
