Hey everyone, glad to find an SR20DE forum.

Having occasional trouble with my '93 SE-R, was hoping someone on the forum had run across this issue.

When it is cold - and it's getting colder fast here in NY - it occasionally has an electrical problem that causes it to run rough.

It seems to go into this mode where it idles rough and low and has very little power.

When I wind it up past 2500 RPM it seems to have enough juice to kick into the correct mode and drive well. This "happy" RPM threshold gets lower and lower as it warms up until it is fine from then on.

Frequently both the battery and the brake light come on and stay on and the wipers move slow when this happens - lights go back off when it kicks in.

It does not do it all the time, but it does it more with the temperature cold in the morning.

Anyone have any ideas? Diagnostic paths? Can anyone tell me how to measure the output of the alternator?

Thanks,
3rd
