I have done progressive systems using a Perfect Power SMT 6 this gives you a system mappable by throttle position and TPS.
It also allows timing retard when on the gas.

I found the hard way that the stock head bolts are the limiting factor with nos on a stock DET.
Was making 155wkw on .7 bar boost and we got it up to 220wkw with no issues ran like that for a while and then I upped it again to around 240 250wkw.
Headbolt or gasket let go and we ended up blowing a welch plug out of the head and bending NO. 1 conrod. This from ingested water, I can tell you that even with a viscous lsd traction was non existent till 3rd gear and then the torque steer was vicious.
