Ever have your transmission crack??? Here's a new one...

Well... I had had a trans leak for a few weeks, nothing major nothing really leaving a puddle, then one day it decided to leave it's mark.

low and behold yes I took it to Nissan, who then decided to tell that it was beyond repair and it couldn't be driven home, they asked me what I wanted them to do...

"well put it back together I'll think about it and come back in a few days"
can't be driven my @$$

apparently I needed new seals on the trans, both passenger and drivers side, and a cltuch... but that didn't really make sense because that's not where it was all coming from....

Well I decicded to order the parts and I decided to get a new clutch, bought an ebay XTD "stage 3" 6 puck, and went from there.

Well I felt that paying $1500+ at the dealer to fix this was a little OUTRAGOUS! so I took a few weeks and did it myself ( I didn't have a lot of time to work on it :P )

Got everything apart and found this first.

I was wondering WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED!? So I took back the trans a bit and found out what it looked like...

WTF I was thinking... Well nothing is making sense at this point, so after taking the pressure plate off I find this

well 2 spings decided to SPRING around my bellhousing... but where did the oil come from??? Hmmm.... Oh wait! I know!!!

Hmm... flying spings... well they must have gotten cought and flown around and sratched and dented their way around QUITE A BIT.

SO instead of doing probably the smart thing and get a new bell housing... we did this..

Yes that's right friends... JB Weld.... Not proud but damn it that's all I could think of... Now I made best sure to not get any to fall inside the case, I would have done it with them apart but we ran into another problem taking off the trans end cap.

Yup, bolt snapped off... so I torqued everything back to spec and I hope that It won't leak! *sigh*

well all in all considering this was the first clutch I ever did, it was a learning experince and I did alot of reading around here, very good info and I came back here alot!

here's the new stuff...

I hope some of you got a laugh, some maybe disgusted, others I don't know i'm getting tired and can't think of any other relating emotions... but I put it back together and just gotta wait 490 miles till I can see what its made of!
