Two things to add.
Any exhaust leaks at your header/exhaust manifold will result in a crappy idle and possibly hesitation. The O2 sensor is getting air from outside the engine, and it will be very confused.
Also, if the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor is getting a faulty reading, either a bad sensor or wiring, the motor will run like ass. Crappy, fluctuating idle, possibly dieing on you, bad hesitation under load or any time you attempt to accelerate. The ECT controls a "choke" that dumps extra gas when your engine is cold. If the ECT is faulty in any way, it will dump gas when the engine is hot. Flooding the engine.
