The MSS is independent of the ECU and can be wired to switch your cams to either: 1) replace the switching capability of the VE ECU (which switches the cams at a high engine speed and is not reprogrammable), or 2) to switch your cams if you use a DE ecu.

You should use your original harness in either case. If you use the switching capability of the VE ECU, additional wiring will be needed to connect the ECU to the cam solenoids if you use the original harness.
