Yes, you can use the stock ecu with the stock MAF and INJ but then you will be missing out on 700rpm of the power that the engine makes. If you could do it in stages you could buy a sr16ve and latter buy a used de for a good price and swap stuff over. That would be good for doing it in stages and still cost less then a sr20ve in the end.
