only if we can lock it out and only invite people and then make those mad who were not invited and then have 15 threads about how uncool it was to have an invite only section and how uncool to not be invited....

uhh... nevermind... yeah whatever they said...

no you wont thomas, dont lie. sh*t.

i take it youre going to run the dyno thing if we have one?

and, FYI, C-los Guttierrez and some select SoCal members are planning this one, something that apparently requires a lot of blue drinks as fuel...

so, who's renting this year?

Well, despite all the pre-planning, i.e. buying a new car hauler, vacation requests, stopping points, car upgrades for the track... doesn't look like we'll be able to make it after all. My wife was dead set on us going, even driving from Florida... she heard me talk about how much fun it was at the '03 Convention, and I really did miss my kids while there.

Not a big deal to take 2 weeks off to drive out and back, everything was planned and in order... and if not done, would have been ready by convention time. My folks used to haul us kids all over the States when we were growing up, so the drive was no big deal.

But, my wife will be having her 4th surgery in 2 years, this spring. She'd be willing to attempt the trip, but we don't need any complications. She's offered to let me fly out, maybe take my oldest(he's 4). But, I don't want to go w/o my car... didn't do the track event at the last convention(still kicking myself) and I can't see abusing the hell out a rental car and being able to return it with a straight face. Besides, I want to drive MY car on the track.

Man, this would have been sooooo cool to do. An opportunity for me to do for my kids what my parents did for us... see the country, lots of vivid memories, even after over 35 years.

Don't think anything will change, so y'all have fun... I'm still going to buy a friggin t-shirt, though.

Later,
Mark

Looks like I probably won't be making it either. We were going to take a little over a week's vacation and do the convention the first weekend, and then go down to San Diego for Kerry to do the marathon. The the covention was scheduled a week earlier. Since Kerry supports all my car crap, the least I could do was support her marathon.
