Ok, well, just for the FL guys at least, I would like us to leave at like 5am so we can get on the road, and meet up with whoever is coming later.

Re: Hey South Usa

I'm going to leave on the 18th after work. I'm driving from Marietta, GA. Anybody wanna caravan with me? I'm going to take the I-40 route out there because I think it is faster if I'm going to the Desert Inn first. I plan on taking the I-10 to I-20 route on the way back though, since we'll be in L.A.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in either riding along or following along, let me know. As of right now, I'm driving by myself

Hey man whats up? Remember me from last year, with the white SER? Anyways, why not caravan with us, and find 1 other to ride with you? We are leaving early the 19th from FL, and we were going to meet up with ppl along the way, thats why we posted the rout. We will get there the night before the track night, cause most of us want to participate/see it. Le tme know. BTW isnt your name Torry, or something tlike that? This is Justin

Re: Hey South Usa

Yeah, it's Torry, like in my sig

I don't really want to drive all the way down to FL to join the caravan. It's too far out of the way. I'm opting for the shorter route

I'll probably caravan with you guys on the way back though, atleast until TX, where I can hop on I-20 and head farther north.

Re: Hey South Usa

The route listed is to take I-10 west. I-10 is in FL. I'd have to drive *south* 5 hours to meet up with you. I'd rather drive north to I-40 then west. As opposed to south to I-10, west to CA, then north to the Desert Inn.

Oh ok, I guess I was wrong then. I was thinking we could meet up somewhere past the Mississippi or something, but looks liek we wont be taking the same route.

Re: Hey South Usa

Well, for you guys, it is faster. I'm *much* farther north, and for me, I-40 is faster, atleast to the Desert Inn. I plan on taking I-10 back because L.A. is farther south than the track, and I-10 will make more sense even for me on the way back.

I've never taken the I-40 route, but I took I-10 out to Phoenix for the 02 convention when I was living in Orlando. It's not *that* bad.

Maybe differnt route on the way home, no? we wont be in as big a rush then, and on the way there, most of that boring driving they are talking about out west will be at night anyways. Im open to go a diff route there too, if it is as fast.

Re: Hey South Usa

You guys should run a mapquest out to Lancaster, CA (where the Desert Inn is). I just did it from Sarasota and it showed I-40 being the quickest route.

Three SR20DE powered cars in Dothan? Do you autox at that base outside of Dothan? I have been over there with some friends before. My work also occasionally forces me to drive to Dothan for work. Your not too far away. We need to have some geekouts sometime. As a matter of fact Southeast SERCA is about to announce a dyno day to be held in Chattanooga. It will probably be in June. You guys are welcome to come up, the price is great!

Re: Hey South Usa

Well, I'm going to take I-40, regardless of what you guys decide. However, I just checked using RandMcNally Tripmaker (which I have on my computer) and from Sarasota to Lancaster, it shows the best route as I-10 all the way at 2637 miles. However, if you put a stopover in Marietta, GA (where I'm at), it shows the best route as I-75 north and I-40 all the way, at 2759 miles. So going up north (through Marietta) to I-40 adds about 80 miles to your trip. However, it adds about 190 miles to *my* trip to cut down to I-10 by Mobile.

Choice is yours, ofcourse, but I'm taking I-40 If you guys change your mind and decide to do the same, let me know so we can make arrangements to meet up.

One other thing is you guys had mentioned you plan on leaving wed morning. I recommend tuesday night. I had planned on leaving tuesday night from marietta...wed morning from FL would be cutting it waaaaaay too close. I like having time to relax a bit after a 40 hour roadtrip before I take my car to the track

Re: Hey South Usa

BTW...what I meant by I-75 north to I-40 is via I-24 west in TN (from Chatanooga to Nashville).
