I just tried (15:00, 12-Feb-04) to make a reservation at the Embassy, they have no clue about us. It looks like whoever made the deal hasn't percolated the information down to the folks in at the front desk. Neither Maria (front desk) nor Christine (Guest Services) is aware of the group deal.

The Desert Inn reservation went perfectly.

Addendum 16-Feb-04: There is no negotiated rate, $139 is regular price. No need to mention SERCA since it gets us nothing.

BTW, that Embassy rate is mad expensive. You can get on travelocity.com and get the rooms for the same dates for $120/night. you should try to re negotiate. I hope everyone posts up about which hotel they will stay at so we can all bok the same one. thats kinda a hassle having 2.

I'm going to be staying with a friend in L.A. I hope we don't have to drive too far each day to these events. I'd stay at the hotel, but after driving 24 hours, we're not going to be able to afford that.

Everyone will be staying at the Desert Inn on Thursday night, and the Embassy Suites on Friday and Saturday night.

The Desert Inn is near the Willow Springs International Raceway, where we will be holding our hotlapping event on Friday. We will wake up early Friday morning, then drive the 20 minutes to the track.

After the trackday, we will be heading out to Arcadia/Pasadena area, were we will be shacking up at the Embassy Suites. Waking Saturday, we should head on over to R&D in Gardena for the Dyno Test and Tune day. Once this is complete, we can head back to our hotel for some complimentary 20 drinks per person

Of course Sunday will be our beloved tour of the Nissan USA headquarters, which Mike Kojima has been so gracious to put together for us.

If anyone has any ammendments to this, please post. Thanks!

Mmmmm......Desert Inn, home of the shortest night I've had the last two years....

Also...it should be noted that Willow Springs is about a 90 minute drive from downtown LA at 85mph with Mike Kojima in the lead and me wringing his 200 out, trying to catch up.

This is all moot, though, until Embassy gets word of our deal.

As it stands right now, the Dyno session won't be held at R&D.

More details later.

Actually, the drinks are free, arent they? As in unlimited, like last year? From 5pm-7pm every night as many free drinks as you want.

Luckily for me..

My Mom lives in Oak Park. I can probably drive back and
forth, now to see whether or not I can make it out and flog
a rental. She's also *dying* for me to come out and visit.

I'm trying to figure out if I can swing flying out then, it's
rough to try and schedule right now, but I'm trying.

The following was posted on the SE-R main list by the SW SERCA president Carlos Gutierrez:

"I apologize for any inconvenience, but after speaking with the manager
who was "handling" our arrangements at ES it seems we're best off just
booking online for the best rate.

http://tinyurl.com/2lc4l

The above should redirect you to the ES site specifically for the
5/20-21 dates based on dbl. occupancy & 2 beds (all rooms have a
fold-out sofa-bed in the front entry area).

$118 internet or $125 AAA in case you have to wait until the last minute
& book there. If you've ever stayed at an Embassy Suites you know not
only their service is awesome, but they also have a great made to order
breakfast bar 7-11AM & happy hour 5-7PM.

Thats what I was trying to say earlier in my other post, about the Embassy. Just go to travelocity.com, expedia.com those kinda sites and you can get it for $120/night.
