Yeah I got some Bobcats and man they grip when they are cold!!! They dust like crazy but its a very light dust non of that corrosive crap. I orginally was shellshocked by the price but after having them on the car for a few months now they are worth every penny.
It seems as though the pad is to big to be installed w/ the shims. Is this normal? I figure worst case they'll squeal a bit, then when they wear some I can re-install the shims. What do you think?

Mwuhahaha! Panther pads? They squeal so bad that when you're just cruising they make a sound as the pads are barely rubbing the rotors. With the windows up its not that bad, but roll them down and every stop sign/light you come to you won't BELIEVE how loud they are! I bought some shims at Pep boys and even used a little Permatex disc quiet. It helped.
John did you use a clamp to push in the caliper piston? I had to. Make sure if you have to do this you monitor your master cylinder for spill over as you squeeze them in.
The squealing issue is a personal tolerance thing though. It may not bother you at all. Turn up the radio!

Oh, goody! I still have a good set of metalmasters I can swap back in if they get to intolerable. I tried using a clamp, that sucker is as far as it will go. Once they get a bit of wear, I'll put the shims on 'em w/ some of that stop squeal stuff. Thanks for the heads up.
I finally swapped my Ultimates back in for my Panther +s. It like I went back to stock brakes. Ultimates suck compared to Carbotechs. The panthers are a bit loud, and dusty, but its worth it for the better pads. I'll be buying either these or the XPs next time.

Do not reuse the shims. We make track pads extra thick with more material. More material = longer wear.
mine only squeal when its below 60* on the first few stops
after that, theyre pretty silent (well, i cant hear them over the 3" exhaust)
I agree. After the convention weekend, I have to say even the first stop I made before bedding them in, these pads were leaps and bounds better than the metal masters. Hardly any squeaking. Great brakes pads. I'm sold.
