I took the scenic route home from Austin to Dallas (I've been on that 35 route soooo many times I get bored to death).

I took 183 to Lampassas, 281 to 220 (I may be getting the numbers wrong with my bad memory) to Hico (a neat little town I'll have to go back and check out with Billy the Kid museums, etc.) and 75 to Cleburne (75 south of Cleburne gets nice and twisty and hilly, at least by north TX standards) which goes past that Glen Rose(?) dinosaur park thingie.

I also saw a black turbo Supra and a bright yellow Lotus (that new little thingie they came out with). It's not just pickups on backroads anymore.

Anyway, it only took an hour longer (4) than the 35 route, a LOT less crowded and a lot more scenic and relaxing. Just in case someone else wants to break up the Dallas/Austin monotony. As usual, keep it close to the limit and watch for speed traps. Your mileage may vary. Ask an associate for details. Void where prohibited by law.

Yeah, I need to crop and sharpen them, and get them posted on my IP account ... hopefully within a day or two. I actually have to WORK this week ... I could use a two-day coma right now.

Here you go, slapped together and a bee-aatch to load with a dial-up, my quick-and-dirty caravan pic webpage. It's an angelfire which means it may not redirect ... copy and paste URL into your browser if necessary:

http://www.angelfire.com/art/zbillster/caravan.html

And if any tech whiz with downtime wants to pirate the site and put it somewhere more user-friendly, be my guest.
