TWS Lap Times

Wondering what lap times you folks were running, specially the ve and turbo guys. TWS is my home track and work didn't allow me to go.

2:19 in a rental Jaguar XJ8 by Joe Diminno. This was taken with a stopwatch by the passenger (me).

~2:17 taking it pretty easy. Not using 3rd gear, stock boost level, and going about 85%. I bet I could shave off 10 seconds(edit: make that 5 seconds, maybe 10 with race tires) without too much trouble. I was getting inside wheelspin coming out of the corners when I did use 3rd to pass (worn out stock vlsd).

For comparison, Greg Amy got Grover's race car around that layout in 2:03.

So what your saying is that anyone who ran slower than the Jag should be shot?

Hey, I never saw you, you never saw me. We had to be circulating at the same rate. Ergo, you may indeed shoot anyone driving slower than the Jag in the advanced session.

I have a de with I/H/E, GC/Koni set-up, Azenis and nx brakes, and full interior. I usually run 2:07's to 2:10's. When the car was stock and I was a newbie, I ran in the mid 2:20's. I have over 100 hours of seat time at TWS though.

Some of us were driving other people's cars during the first advanced session, and let the Jag pass us, not feeling up to driving 98% that early in a car we weren't terribly familiar with.

So shoot me.

IMHO.

That's OK GP we won't shhot ya we like ya.

Same deal while I was driving Terry's car. I had a Spec V on my bumper through the turns because I was cruising through in 4th gear at about 75% of what the car had and he was a full bore.

To get a 2:19 out of the Jag I had it side ways around most of the track. One instince going around that left hand sweeper at the end of the short straight after the carosel 90 plus miles an hour with the ass end hanging out. Matt had an enjoyable ride.

Khiem, that's exactly why I started trailering my car. Even if it were street-legal, I'd still tow it. I understand you broke college kids not being able to enjoy that option.

Sheee-yot! You said you pulled a 2 sec lap slower in the Max than in the Jag, yet in the Jag you could not keep up with me in the Max. Hmmm... (let the rice lies begin)

That was in the first session before the Jags suspension modification. It made the car much better. Plus I didn't want to make you look bad in front of the SE-R community, you have a rep to uphold.
