Embassy Suites Hotel Austin-North
5901 North IH-35
Austin, Texas 78723

1-512-454-8004

@ $99/night SERCA rate.
Double beds, non smoking, up to four per suite.

Warning: Rate ends March 18th.

(Just a reminder for the track people - stay Thurs night at the MHI in College Station)

To get a room, call the hotel directly and ask for reservations.
Just specify the SERCA rate, and have a credit card in hand.

I was transferred to Embassy's 800 reservation system but they did have the SERCA rate in the system and I did get a non smoking double without having to ask for it.

The rate is also good for a 3/31 checkin or a 4/4 checkout.

For those who want to visit 6th Street Saturday evening, a hotel shuttle should be available similar to our stay in VA.

Here's the 411 for the College Station hotel:

Manor House Inn
2504 Texas Avenue South
College Station, Texas 77840
1-800-231-4100
1-409-764-9540

Reservation period runs February 4 thru March 15. Please wait until Friday afternoon (Feb 4th) before calling to make your reservation. There are many other hotels in College Station should you miss this opportunity but they are quite a bit more expensive.

Club MHI is the traditional racer's hotel for Texas World Speedway. They've blocked off 50 rooms for us. The racer's group rate is $57.00 per night. Be sure to mention group number CGBH#1 when calling. The rate applies to single or double, smoker or non-smoker.

"We offer a complimentary breakfast, HBO cable TV with free movies and sports, free local phone calls, attractive pool area, one day laundry/valet service, health club facilities, shuttle service, refrigerator and microwave in each room, and complimentary coffee and fresh fruit 24 hours a day."

Plenty of decent eateries nearby. (And it's a college town!)

This is the road course we will be doing at TWS:

This is the goofiest map I've ever seen, but here's where it is:

If I were you, I'd write down they're address and mapquest it, though it doesn't look hard at all to get there from Austin:
17529 Hwy 6 South
College Station, Tx 77845

Thanks! And don't forget to eat some yellow donuts before you leave (if you don't get it now, you will before you leave)!

April 2, 2005 - I move that we don't drag race. Instead, we take the David Koresh Tour in Waco TX! Better yet, if we were to post pone convention and make it Friday April 18, 19 & 20.

So....
4/18 - Road Race
4/19 - David Koresh Tour (12 Year Aniversary)
4/20 - Picnic, Car Show, BBQ & Smoke out...

BTW: April 1st is a Tuesday incase nobody noticed...

All in Favor....

*EDIT*
Dope!!! Went to 2003 instead of 2005.

I Think that the Drag Race Event would be better.

For those who want to drag race, go Friday to San Antonio instead of Texas World Speedway.

Saturday can be a pub crawl along 6th Street. Make sure you carry bail money.

Typically, about a hundred-and-fifty show up for the picnic.

As I wrote before:
College town!

Besides, Houston is flat and boring and a megopolis whereas Austin is hilly and small compared to Houston or D/FW. Did I mention it's a college town? I'm not much of a party animal but I hear 6th Street is the happenin' place. Plus, Austin is a college town!

Yep Houston is ok but sucks compared to Austin. The roads are great and the women are hot. And it's a college town too.
