We're evaluating hotel options right now, and we want to take a poll on what attendees (and potential attendees) would like to see.
DO NOT vote in this poll if you're not attending!
It looks like the ES will be about ~68 miles from the track, which could be as long as a 1.5 hour drive depending on traffic. There will be a meet and greet on Thursday night. Whatever hotel the majority of people want to be at will dictate where the meet and greet is held.
Prices for a track hotel have not been researched yet, but will be posted soon. The Embassy Suites has typically been around $100 a night. The track hotel will probably be cheaper, but by how much remains to be seen.
Traditionally, I find that the night before everyone is up late with drivers meetings, getting to know one another/catching up and last minute fixer uppers. The next morning is always an up early morning so that everyone can get to the track, get themselves and the car ready (change tires, removing stuff, etc), have another meeting and get familiar with coarse layout and stuff. For these reasons I prefer to stay at a closer hotel for a cheaper rate. JMHO.

I agree w/ Big John. The only thing I would say is that if it is between two hotels close to the track, that which everone is chosen has a meeting room (they probably all do though).
I would rather stay at a larger and nicer hotel that could better accomodate a very large turnout. a large chain hotel would in my opinion better suit a large convention more than a "mom and pop" size hotel. plus, how cool would it be take over 68 miles of road with nissans
Track hotel close to the track, Embassy Suites for Friday and Saturday night
^^^^ that gets my vote. i dont think many people want to drive 1.5 hrs to the track that early in the AM
Same here. Nicely put Rob.

Staying closer to the track gets my vote. Driving that far in the AM wouldn't be that much fun. Some people do party a little on Thursday nite

I can see this poll ending soon. A track hotel will be found for people. The nice thing is after a long day at the track, we won't have to go too far to get to the Embassy Suites.
A track hotel is standard operating procedure at this point.

Matt, if there is anything that I can do to help out on the convention, please let me know.
