Since some people might be flying in, what are the airports that are recomended to fly into?
IE: close to the track on track day and close to the hotel for the rest of the weekend?
Newark is the easiest IMHO it will def be the closest to the "non track" hotel.

Personally I hate Newark but it is probably closest. You can fly to Philly if you want to try to get a cheaper flight but it will be somewhat of a drive back.
Compared to what? PHL is usually cheaper then EWR. LGA is cheaper then all. But who would want to drive to them from PA.
sh*t, LGA / JFK I wouldn't want to drive to/from if I lived 5 miles away! Actually, I think I'm technically 10 miles from LGA and 25 or so from JFK and I hate them both. Now Newark... I can be there in 10 minutes early in the morning as long as the car is there when I get up

10 miles and 2 hours away depending on the day. Sucks huh?

Southwest does fly into Newark, Philly, and LaGuardia.
Southwest DOES NOT fly into Newark or LaGuardia. It flies into Islip Long Island for the NYC area. Trust me on this, I deal with Southwest on a daily basis on the job.
LA to Philly thru Southwest can be had at a reasonable cost. Just book in advance and check the Southwest website for special fares into Philly.

Appears to work to me... I just (almost) booked a flight from LAX (Los Angeles, CA) to EWR (Newark, NJ) for flight #346 which leaves LAX at 7:35AM on 9/11 and arrives at EWR at 6:22PM for (is this possible?!?) $299 one way with refundable ticket. So ~$600 for one way?!? That's a bit steep if you ask me.
Oh, anyway, back to the point... they do seem to fly into EWR and LGA unless it's a top-secret thing that only people in the business know about them NOT flying into those two airports. I'll go swing by EWR tonight to see if I see any Southwest planes parked out by the Turnpike over by IKEA
Newark is by far the best to fly into being that it's a relatively large
airport, and the traffic in/out of it isn't bad pretty much any time of
the day. The other thing is that car rentals inside the 5 boroughs of
NYC are ludicrously overpriced vs. the rest of the world.

You know, I have $400 deltabucks that I'm looking to burn since I have no reason to fly anymore (they overbooked my flight), so, if anyone needs a flight from somewhere to somewhere else, I can book the flight from my airport counter (HSV) and they'll print your ticket wherever you happen to be.
If you want to pay me partial (like $150 for the entire $400 or something) you can, but I won't make you... I just don't want to see the $$$ go to waste, ya know? It'll be worth it to see more ppl. at the convention.
PM me if interested. ////H

Not on the forum much lately since neck injury - we'll be back at it soon, babying the n00bies.
JWT S4, HS 6, Home Depot Intake, Hypercoil 2s w/ KYB "GR-Poo", CF Sunroof Delete panel, and other crap - where's my interior?
I live 15 minutes from the LVI airport and about 40 minutes from the convention area. I know it's far off but if anyone will need a place to stay let me know.

Newark SUCKS! Parking is horrible traffic is nuts! Long term parking might as well be in Manhattan it's so far away. Flying in may be better for some things but traffic around Newark always sucks.
I have flown from/to PHL and EWR many times and PHL wins hands down.
