I'm up for the NYC tour. I think the free day on Saturday is a great idea. Last year was the first one I went to with a free day in the middle. I spent that day under a car, but it was a worth while day helping a friend and still hanging out with people. Having 2 days in a row with planned stuff sucks. The weekend goes by so fast and you don't get to see anyone. The planners also miss out on having fun with a free day in there. I pretty much missed out on the '03 convention becuase the track day took so much out of me, that I was sick that night, and missed the saturday night fun. I spent all of Sunday dealing with the picnic, and by the time things slowed down, most everyone had left to go home. The meet and greet is not an organized deal. Last year, it was on the balcony outside the hotel rooms. It was nice to walk around, drink some beer, and get to see everyone again, meet new people, and swap war stories. There isn't much time for that at the track, since everyone is working on their car, watching a few laps, or in the car driving. I like having the convention spread over 3 full days. I don't get to see 90% of the people but once a year, if even that. I do like the smaller groups on Sunday night though.
