That wekend is the Superstreet Time Attack qualifer at PIR that I am contracturaly obligated to go to by my title sponser Nitto in the under contruction Dog III.
If not that there is an SE-R Cup race as well and I am going to be a serious contender for the championship this year.
But if the Dog III is done, I have to go to Arizona to debut it. Thats what sucks about being a pro racer with a big dollar sponser, sometimes, you don't have a choice.

Sorry to hear (well, about going to the convention, I'm sure the Time Attack stuff will be great).

Dang, sorry to hear you wont be attending. Next year give us your schedule and we will plan Chicago around you.
We were thinking about George Peters hosting it in Las Vegas with the trackday in Parump Utah with an SE-R Cup points race as well. I think Vegas would be a good place for our normaly troublesome group.
Unfortunately the time atttack schedual just got posted.
Some one has to represent the Sentra in hardcore national compitition!

Vegas would be awsome, I have not been out there in years. We could get all rowdy and steel some golf karts and sh*t

Wait, hold on a second... YOU are representing the Sentra crowd?! We don't stand a chance!
Sorry to hear you're not making it out Mike. I'll just have to make it a point to come out that way in September/October for a track event out there. I'll have plenty of vacation to spare this year and the job I'm on doesn't suck and others can cover for me!

Yes. Normaly I could afford to mis one as we drop the lowest race in the points calculations but I have to go to the time attack.
I just think it's a conflict of interest for the club, like maybe the planners (Kieran! ) should have known there was an SE-R Cup race that weekend. Heck, having a convention wherever the race is would have been cool for us to come and watch.
Maybe next year we can plan track days around the race and watch the race....or is the track pretty booked on the days before and after the race with qualifications and time trials and that jazz?

I remember last year they changed the date so I could go, then I went and broke my leg right before the whole thing. Everyonme was having fun while I was being operated on.
Either way, it does seem like an oversight to have it scheduled on the same weekend as a NASA event. Kind of counter-intuitive.

Unfortunately it's easier said than done. With conventions, you take whatever dates you can get at the cheapest rate you can find. Also, (Mike or one of you other guys can correct me if I'm wrong) the Cup schedule usually doesn't come out until after the convention dates are announced. There are only so many people that the convention can cater to.
If I remember correctly, the convention interfered with cup races at least once before (Alabama I think?)
