Hey guys, some of you may know me as the NX2000 riceboy....
I want to contribute by putting my company's services up.
My company is ww.SiCrew.com, we have been doing car shows for about 6 years now, going to shows providing music, models, event coverage, hosting stage contests (bikini, break dance, etc) and what not.
I am working on getting a few models out for this event, not local girls..girls you have seen in magazines, website etc. And music with our main dj's that have played at Hot import nights for the past 4-5 years in Boston, Atlantic City, Secacus etc....
I can also set up magazine and dvd video/ TV coverage.
Who can I talk to for me to set up my contribution?
I want to bring our A game out so everyone can enjoy the event.
I will be announcing models that will be attending once I get cleared by Matt, but his E-mail seems not to work.
I have contracts with a few promoters that do the big shows, aslong as we dont bump dates, everything should be good.
I would personally never go to the se-r convention if it became one of "those" types of shows. I can go to HIN if I want to see that crap.
edit: no offense btw.

YEh,i know what you mean, but im sure not too many people
will mind music and im sure they wouldnt mind more coverage
that will get more companies interested in our cars that will make more products.
Also, there are a LOT of nissans at shows here in NJ/NY/PA, i'd say last year, 30% of the cars were nissans, mostly s13s, boosted, a few twin turbo g35s, countless 350zs,
i always see pics on this board with guys that have pictures taken with some girls, so I know there are a few here that wouldnt mind models hanging out, and from time to time when somebody gets into a magazine the thread goes on for pages...so i know people dont mind the coverage.
I personally am Sick for "those" types of shows where there are 500 cars, only 100 decent....a whole bunch of ugly girls in skimpy outfits, etc...
we dont do that. I, like you...HATE "those" types of shows...but some of them pay us well to provide music, models, and coverage, so we do our job.
I don't think having 3-6 well known girls, a bit of music, and event coverage will not hurt the convention, unless I am mistaken, because this would be MY FIRST convention!
Although I've never attended a convention (this will be my first as well), your idea doesn't quite fit the essence of what the SERCA convention is all about. It's not about girls and music, its about the cars.
They may be popular models, but its not what we need at the convention. If anything, it would be a distraction from the comraderie that has been the identity of the SE-R community.
My $0.02.

Cool, now I can put fluffy cotton in my wheel wells, and mirrors around the wheels, and under the car. My neon underglow kit is being installed this weekend. I can't wait.

As NismoSER (and eric96ser and BigB a little more sarcastically) have said, the SE-R convention picnic is not about loud music and models. At the risk of pissing people off, Hot Import Nights type shows are viewed as immature, ricey, and innappropriate.
The SE-R convention picnic is usually a bunch of SE-Rs (and some other cars) parked by year and model in a parking lot with a bunch of us standing around talking shop and checking out others' cars for a few hours followed by some grub and raffle prizes. The picnic usually ends with the announcement of the car show awards. Engine revving, loud stereos, and peeling out in the parking lot are not typically observed (hint, hint) Park rangers will likely be patrolling anyone and I think they usually frown on stuff like that and will likely kick offenders out of the park.
Any help you could offer in the way of sponsors or vendors would be great. I am putting together a press release to send out soon and more contacts/phone/fax/e-mail would be great. I am working hard to make this a much more family-friendly convention so that some of the guys can call it a vacation and justify it to the wife or girlfriend (or both That is where the idea of the Free Day on Saturday has come from.
Any concerns or comments can be directed at me via PM or e-mail. Thanks and look forward to seeing many of you in just under three months!

Ask me about the 2011 Nissan-Infiniti National Convention www.nissan-infiniti.us
Understood, I like to bring my family out to shows aswell, and i can never take them to HIN because of the style.
I cannot promise coverage from nationwide magazines without music or a few girls being present, but I can still arrange local coverage from magazines that spread the east coast.
One thing i do know is WE need more coverage to alert more companies of what we are doing with our cars and get more support...
if you guys can figure out a way that I can support by means of media coverage please do pm me.
to be honest i like our scene being low key. the whole reason i got into the nissan scene was the it was so low on the radar. i like driving a car that when people look at it they dont know what it is. the last thing i want to hear is some kid going "hey i seen a car just like yours in this months super street."
