Snell has extended the '95 rated helmet to Sept. 2006, which makes no sense.
NASA will not allow any "M" helmets at their events as has SCCA.
PDA will adopt the same position as is outlined in the insurance regs. We will strongly encourage people to up date their '95 helmets to the new 2005 models before Sept. It's all about the safety and getting the best protection.

So basically your 95 helmets are good until sept. But he is also saying "M" helmets will not be allowed after sept. also.

Now leave me alone.

* Wear long sleeve shirt & long pants while driving
* Have properly working seat belts on both driver and passenger side
* ALL convertibles MUST have an approved roll bar (main hoop should be made of .120 wall thick steel)
* Vehicle must pass tech inspection by your mechanic or our staff and Tech Sheets must be signed by both driver and inspector
* All vehicle safety related functions must be in proper working order
* Exhaust must not exceed 90 DB (except at Pocono!)
* Street tires must have no less than 5/32" tread or race tires.

I suppose that doesn't really answer the question, but Joe D or someone else will have to chime in here.
My work here is done.

what about seats - I have aftermarket (corbeau) seats - are those ok for the track? and my battery is in the trunk, but not cut off switch - do i need one of those? Sorry for the basic questions, but I've never raced my car.

You are not gonna race your car at the convention. This is exclusively a driver education event. So, your seats are fine. You need no safety equipment beyond a well-maintained car and an SA95 or M95 helmet.

As long as the battery is securely tied down, you have no worries.

Any suggestion to buying an open or closed face helmet? I found a good deal on the Pyrotect helmet for $109.95 + $25.98 shipping, but its an open face. It also has a Snell SA 2000 rating.
