Hey Kieran,

I have been mapping this out all morning on streets, google earth and several other methods. Have some questions. You guys are from there so I assume that there are some reasons for some non-obvious stuff i.e. traffic, construction, etc.

To the track hotel (HoJo)
From the South

Wouldn't it be better to continue on 81/78 until
SR33 at which point you take north until it dead ends into 611
then take right to hotel?

Pocono Raceway
From the Track Hotel (East) approx. 1 hour

Isn't this only 25 miles? Why an hour? (traffic maybe?)

To the Embassy Suites hotel
From the track (West) approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes

Shouldn't it be:
Keep left at the fork in the ramp?

Thanks

First, I'd like to point out that I've made some changes in red above. Both with Thomas's comments as well as actually driving it this weekend to verify the directions, I've made some changes.

You could do that. It's another viable option. I'm not sure but think 81 up to 80 MIGHT be faster because it's more superhighways. 78 to 33 is definitely a possibility though.

You are correct. It's about a half hour or so. Thanks for catching that!

Again, you are correct. I picked up on this Saturday when I drove the directions. My wife was reading them to me and said to keep right and I started to go that way but knew better so my instinct was to head back to the left. I nearly drove right down the middle I was so indecisive! Anyway, we got there and I've revised the directions.

It's a pretty nice place too with a much more spread out atrium (it's horizontal instead of vertical - you'll all see what I mean) Some birds but they're in a cage so no drunken conventiongoers will have to worry about being bit by the birds

I don't think they were worried about the that the FIRST time. Swimming seemed to be more the issue.

I wouldn't take 81 up then come back East to get to the track hotel. I would take 78 to 22E actually then to 33N.

78E to 33N (78 is newly connected to 33 may not be on some maps) is much longer then taking 22 at the 78/22 split then 33 North.

As for 81 being a superhighway all the roads discussed are only 2 lane roads for the most part.

The only thing that 81N to 80 will get you is possibly around Allentown traffic you are going thru during typical rush hour times. But you may run into some stupid traffic coming East on 80 from 81.

My suggestion 81 to 78 to 22 to 33 to 611.

Yeah that's what I meant also. Looking at my map I zoomed in tonight and saw that 78 branches down below Allentown. My map zoomed out didn't show me that 78 does that, it looked as if 22 is 78 because it didn't label 22 as 22 but as 78.

Thanks for the clarification.
