We should see if we can get a group deal going on head gaskets
Count me in! And heck, we can even designate Saturday as a QR head-gasket replacement day. I'm about due to blow another one, my current one has 60k miles on it!

Let's not joke about that. A friend of mine is bringing his, and we are putting a fuel pump in it tomorrow.

What makes you think I'm joking? And btw...I kid you not, I just priced out a fuel pump from Greg V the other day but opted against it for the time being, *** mine still works....for now.
QR is a money pit anyway. Heck, right now my car isn't running because the alternator is at the shop AGAIN, for like the 10th time...I think...I don't know I lost count.
The alternator has already been replaced after all but 1 of the bolts that hold the 2 halves together, jumped ship. The fuel pump is still working, it's the regulator that is bad. 5psi of fuel with the key on, then over 60 at idle. 51psi is spec. 10 second start ups are causing misfire codes, so it won't pass emissions. I was really hoping it was the headgasket, since that is cheap and easy to fix.

Yeah, I had that alternator problem too, I think 3 or 4 rebuilds ago. This time though, I think it's the voltage regulator. Alt light comes on above 4k rpm, but goes out below.
Anyway, my fuel pump has the same issue. Although it's not causing any check engine lights for me. I opted to hold off on it for now because it runs, it's just the starting that is slow. And for ~$200, I'm going to wait until I'm itching to buy something for the car before I get a new one. Right now I've thrown so much money at my 2 cars in the last 2 months that the thought of another $200 sickens me.
if you turn the key and let the fuel pump "prime" (you can hear it), it should start fine, at least mine does.
Yeah, that's what Greg told me. But regardless, it shouldn't have to be that way. If it was working correctly, it would hold fuel pressure during shutoff.
