I have a set of american racing wheels with azenis on them.
The azenis themselves are in mint condition. But I am starting to panic about wheel condition.
All four of these wheels are years old and kinda coroded looking. I Use these wheels fine For autoX. But I am starting to think im not gonna pass tech inspection.
I have Rotas being ordered But they are taking too long..
Does anyone know where i can get a signifigantly light 16x7-7.5 wheel in a 4x114.3 bolt pattern? Light meaning around 14-16 lbs??
ON SHORT NOTICE!
Im getting jittery.. ive paid my dues.. i don't want to fail tech and not be allowed on the track..

Yeah, I'm kind of curious what you mean? If you just mean that the wheels aren't clean, I'll take some pictures of my wheels (although I plan on, if the weather is nice sometime in the next two weeks and I can take a break from doing convention stuff, cleaning the wheels). As long as the wheel isn't in immediate danger of failing, I'm not quite sure why you think you might fail tech?

most of the paint that was on these things is either gone, or ready to go. They have a few dings in them. They are your typical ugly track wheel. I mean i think they will be fine on the course.. I just don't want to fail tech..
ultimately the 225/16 combo would be more sporting that the 205/15 combo..
But At this point if i dont have to buy wheels RIGHT NOW.. I can get VOLKS by the middle of june.. sniffle.. otherwise i need a cheap light alternative.. and FAST!
Sounds like normal oxidation from aluminum. I can imagine that would be the case since you are up north where the roads have just as much salt as concrete. I think it would just be cosmetic damage, not structural.

I'm sure I'll have black wheels, since I have Carbotech pads on the car for the trip up there, and the track. Oh well, if you want to stop good, you need to make some sacrifices.

Track events aren't fashion shows. If your wheels are round and stay bolted to the car, you're good to go. PDA could care less what they look like.
