fu*k that it needs to be in ohio next. can you say mid ohio, natinal trails, norwalk dragway, ceder point, ohio state fairgrounds, jegs, summit, no jug handles, all hotels have free internet, and you can pump your own gas an race gas at that, plus there are car washes everyware.

Mmmmmmm. Vegas.

Columbus-Cleveland *would* be a great place to have one of these in the future. Mid-Ohio is roughly midway between the two cities. Both have national-event-caliber dragstrips (Nat. Trail and Norwalk).

Chicago has got RT 66, it's a national event drag strip. Along with 2-3 other smaller strips. All are within an hour of the hotel.

The Florida people need to actually go to a convention, so they know what goes on.

Dude it was at streets of willow in 04. Nuff said... The issue here is not location but the seriousness of peopl's nterest in our community. If people were DEDICATED to the group they would make it a point to go no matter where it is, OR they would plan an event that is local to them!

I just towed from WI to PA/NJ for this years convention and I wasn't even close to the longest drive....

Like everyone said, the convention was already in Cali. For 07 Chicago will be perfect. Its in the middle of the country which make is easy for everyone (even the canadians) and also Its never been in Chicago. PLus there would be so much to do in the Chicago land area.

I was in the hospital during the conv. in 04...
my issue is not the drive. If I had the time with my schedule to cut it, I would have. My work made it clear that I couldnt go during the busiest time of year for them. Like I said in another thread. I am going next year even if I have to cut my feet off to go. Chicago doesnt sound to bad but I love the idea of Vegas.....ohhhh the possibilities!
