Although this IS a Serca Convention, there are people on the forum who may not be into road racing but love the comaraderie(sp?), and to see other people's cars, hangout, talk shop, drag race, etc. I love the idea of a drag racing day and the possibility of being able to do some dyno runs. Maybe even an award for "Most WHP", Fastest 1/4 Mile Time" etc.
I like the idea of 1 hotel for the whole weekend. Either Embassy for the whole weekend or even a dif. hotel would be fine. I believe the Embassy was originally chosen because of the free happy hour, which wasn't even free this time around. Also at least the track hotel had free internet.
I am 2 thumbs up for the Saturday free day for the same reasons as people have stated.
Maybe some more classes for trophys.
I'd def. love to see more of a Swap Meet kinda thing going on. I liked Matt Oslunds little "booth" if you will with parts for sale. It could be worth while if, say, someone like Fred Casey has a full enclosed trailer with used parts for sale. People would def. be picking stuff over to buy.
Again, all the guys/gals that were involved in this years Convention did a most excellent job and I have not one real complaint. Pat yourselves on the backs for a job well done.
I think the Chicago 07 Convention will be a damn good time.
3. Awards/raffle - organizers, GET A BULLHORN. Or a PA system, something, anything. Those of us sitting towards the back had a very, very hard time hearing you. I realize that it wasn't all your fault; I was amazed at how disrespectfully talkative the crowd was, it was freakin' obnoxious.
WERD...
(Matt the PA SYSTEM)

Someone should bribe the KC racing foo to make a stop with his magic parts bus. It'd be like kids to an ice cream truck.

Not on the forum much lately since neck injury - we'll be back at it soon, babying the n00bies.
JWT S4, HS 6, Home Depot Intake, Hypercoil 2s w/ KYB "GR-Poo", CF Sunroof Delete panel, and other crap - where's my interior?
perhaps invite nissan trucks? after all there nissans too. . .
They were invited! I sent out press releases to every possible club I could find on or about March 1st. I sent it to all Nissans and even (gasp!) a few Honda clubs. No one took us up on it. The only people that we frown upon showing up are those who are disrespectful and act stupid (burnouts, loud obnoxious stereos, breaking the law, etc, etc)

Ask me about the 2011 Nissan-Infiniti National Convention www.nissan-infiniti.us
aww c'mon kieran, i realize that some people did some stupid things, but I think overall the peeps that showed up were good.
I also just wanna give props to you and all the organizers for a job well done!!! If I could just criticize one thing would be the dates of the events. Many of the forum members are college students and the convention took place during finals. I was VERY VERY fortunate that I had completed my work and was able to able, but barely. Just something to keep in mind

No, no, no... I'm not criticizing anything or anyone specific to this year. I'm just saying, in general, that the negative type of behaviour is frowned upon.
As for the dates, we really had our hands tied. The northeast is one of the tougher markets in terms of getting track time. It is prohibitively expensive to purchase a track on our own and so we had to piggyback with whoever we could find. I don't remember exactly but I think PDA added the date to their schedule just to accomodate us. Either way, PDA does one more event in July which has the possibility of being way too hot and is also more expensive and more popular (so they'd be less likely to let us "buy out" the event) Their next event I think is in September and you'd be looking at the other end of the school / college year! It's a tough trade-off and you'll never be able to please everyone everywhere all of the time. All we can do is try. So screw college students! j/k
Ian, you've clearly never been to another convention. The food at this year's convention was probably among the top few conventions in terms of food. The food is always what seems to be lacking. I thought the food was good. In terms of quantity, it's really hard when you plan for a number around 150 and then, at the last minute 50+ more local yokels decide to show up! A little more advanced notice from some of these guys (despite what many of you guys might think, 20 minutes is [B]NOT[B] enough!) I think, given the circumstances, Chuck did really good
