haha, I work for hertz, i imagine i can dig up some nice discounts, and the corvette is still available for those dates. 100 miles limit though, per day, with no discounts they run about $185 a day, + some crazy taxes, ends up being a shade under 500 for them, for two days . I bet i can find a way to knock 20-50% off
I know... I remember. I have an account with hertz

So if we have 2-3 guys and do it just for the day, even with no discount, you're talking $60-$80 per person. Then you have the "I can bring it back in a smoking heap with no questions asked" insurance

looks like i can get it down to about 150 a day, if everyone is atleast 25, you can add on additional drivers for 10 a day. This is for the corvette, it'll be an automatic, but still is probably pretty fun to drive. They will sell out quickly, so if anyone wants to work something out, shoot me a pm.
that i am not sure of, it varies from state to state, in IL, it's 12.50 a day, but we are one of the exceptions, most states are much more, like 26 a day, maybe more for a vette.
Let me just say, even with the automatic, it still totally kicked ass. We didn't have a full track to our disposal, it was just an autoX/drift track, but still hell of a lot of fun.
I'm still planning on driving out to the convention again this year so I can track my own car though. However, with the way gas prices are, it would actually be cheaper to fly out and rent a vette LOL. With gas prices right now, I'm calculating about $1000 for the convention for gas alone.
Yeah, its very tempting. Southwest flights to Las Vegas from Albuquerque are not that expensive if purchased in advance.
However, it would be kinda cool to take my SE to a SE-R convention. The drive isn't really that bad, especially if we were to break it up into 2 days. I will not track my car if we drive there though. I don't want to damage my vehicle and not be able to make it back home.
Don't use that as an excuse! You should at least come and hang out. I'm sure there will be plenty of people willing to give you a ride and maybe even some rentals that would be willing to let you go out for a session
Friday, Oct 10: Track day at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Open to drivers and spectators alike. Drivers cars will be expected to pass tech inspection and helmets will be required for drivers and passengers. There will be a minimum age for passengers and they must have a helmet to ride along. This will be a fun day and everyone should look forward to attending. Rental cars will be allowed on track, so be sure to pick a good one.
Saturday, Oct 11: Free day to explore
This will be an open/free day to explore the city or surrounding area. There are a lot of cool things to do and see in the area. HERE is a link to 100 Things To Do in Vegas. Of course there is more to do than this list, so do some research and be safe. And save some bail money back in the hotel room or something.
Sunday, Oct 12: Picnic @ Floyd Lamb Park
This years picnic will be held @ Floyd Lamb Park. Click HERE for directions from the Hotel to the Park. There will be a $5 entry fee into the park, payed when you enter. We will have an area set aside for our car show and the picnic will be catered by an outstanding caterer in Vegas. It will feature BBQ'd brisket, 3 different side dishes and 3 desserts as well. There will be judging for the car show and there will be a raffle. Prizes range from very small items all the way up to an AEM EMS stand alone unit worth over $1000. raffle tickets will be $5 each, or 5 for $20.
HOTEL INFO:

Dina Harper is our rep. At this time we do not have the group code, but if you call and tell her it is under SERCA/Lesley Peters you should be good to go. The rate will be $159 per night, the rate good for October 9-12th. That means Thursday night through Monday for those flying out late. There will be small suites as normal, with either King or 2 x Queens and the usual couch in the living room. So pile in.
