I still need to actually speak to Lesley, but the track day costs around $4300, and so far we have <$2000 paid. Some people (cough me cough) haven't paid yet, but we know are going to be there. I personally am waiting for 2 reasons: to see how short we are, and to see what I can afford to help make up. As of right now, if we spread the fees, it would be roughly $100+ per driver.

I know you can count Kieran and myself in for an extra $100 give or take if it helps. Granted I would rather see it get filled by people taking advantage of the track. But heck if it is empty perhaps we can do a time attack rental car style

Well, we've got approx $2000 in shortfall. I've been hitting some people up, but no luck yet. Everyone has a tough story to tell, including me. I know I'm good for some extra, but man, to pull out another 2Gs is going to be sorta tough. lazy asses need to get going an register.

I'd be willing to put $100 as well.

I'd be willing to drop in another $100, but I couldn't do until the 9th (payday). Let me know Greg.

WTF guys... there are only 9 people registered?!?! Greg, could you post a list of those who are registered so we can get on the case of the other people who think they're going to show up last second?

Guys, this is embarassing that we've come to this. There are how many tens of thousands of "members" on this site and how many thousands of hits on these convention threads and only 9 fu*king people registered!?! C'mon... there are more than 9 people with suggestions for conventions in future years in their backyard... wtf? I'm honestly going to suggest to anyone in the future (sorry Joe S.) that if they want to try to host a convention... DON'T!!! There were scores of people that were SOOOO excited last year when we announced that it was going to be in Vegas... where the hell are those people? I don't care where you all want to SAY the convention is next year but I'll tell you where it's going to be... actually, I won't. Because it's going to be the 9 people at this year's convention and the core group of convention goers and we're going to pick a location somewhere in the country and pick a track event and we're just going to decend on that event. And it'll be kept quiet and we'll all have a good time. For those of you who suddenly can't or don't want to go to Vegas... sorry.

I'd be interested in seeing a list aswell.

kieran, I totally agree with you. This will be my first convention(not first track event) and there is ALWAYS tons of hype about these things. I'm not seeing it when the money talks.

I think there is only 9 people registered for the track, but 20 for the whole convention. This was after talking to Greg today. 20 people is beyond pathetic, and I'm sure this will be the last year, since there will be no money left for next year. I sent $1000 in, and I think Ray did the same, and I doubt there will be anything left, if not in the red, after the expenses are paid. If I was thinking about hosting another convention, and I heard about 2 conventions being in the red, I would drop that thought. I guess this year will be the core group, and all the people who said they were going to make it, or whatever, will just miss out. If you never went to a convention, and always said you would go next year, you just missed out on a great weekend.

Mac is going too.

BTW, here is the track map, feel free to cross post. We're doing the full ORC (Outside Road Course) in red. 2.4 miles.

Thanks Robert, you're a good man. We're gonna make this happen. Post a link to any boards you can think of, we need the people. I know it's on an EVO board and another racing board, and we got 2 already from the latter.
