Ok basically Im wondering if anyone here has ever installed a test pipe with the O2 sensor adapter in there b14's??????
If so, does it throw any codes and are there any running issues????
Lets here some Input

I'm having this exact setup built next week...I'll let you know . I need the o2 bung in the test pipe so I can hook up a wideband sensor and tune the car's a/f ratio.
I've been told it will still throw a rear o2 code every couple of weeks, not a big deal, we all can reset our ecu's ourselves for $0 !!
yeah it will throw codes. i'm installing my 02 senser. i baught a test pipe with an bung from jgy and i'm just going to install mine just so i don't have anoying check engine lights coming on.
mine hasnt thrown a single code, what so ever, i had a gutted cat when i purchased the car, unknowing , i bought a test pipe from jgy, and when i went to install it i came across the empty cat. seens the straight through cat and test pipe are the same, so i left it for now. but no codes the last 8 months ive had the car.*** limits
Reality sucks........
what year is your car??? Mine is a 96 200sx.
So basically you are saying your O2 is hooked up and you have a hollowed out cat and
no CEL yet.......
i had disconnected the o2 completely and went 3 months without a code, then one day it just came on, and persisted to come on every other 20mi+ trip, aka everyday day for me.
interest in a o2 simulator, it needs be nissan specific?
yeah i havent had a prob yet, after i installed my header i had to replace the front o2 censor , not because of the header or anything but i think it was just time, but other than that no, no light, no nothing the car runs fine, its kinda on the loud side, with a hollow cat, but no lights.. *** limits
This is John's friend Erik and I have the test pipe with rear O2 back in it and have had no problems. Gas mileage never dipped at all when I went from stock cat to test pipe.

Anyone ever try those O2 simulators? They're supposed to simulate the signal that the rear O2 sensor feeds the ECU with the cat still in place.
If someone can recommend a good one you might try that instead of welding a bung into your test pipe.
yeah, i found a o2 sensor simulator at summit racing. Is any one here using them? i thinking about getting one. I have 98se with g20 ecu. If it can get rid of the cel problem, i would be ecstatic. If anyone can shed some light that would be coo.
That is interesting but isnt a test pipe cheaper and if you can hook your old o2 into the test pipe and not throw a code then that seems better to me!!!

Well that's about the most expensive O2 simulator I've ever seen. They can be found on eBay for $25.00 (not sure if they work or not - that's why I asked earlier).
Second (and I meant to write this earlier but forgot), if you go ahead and use the rear O2 sensor with your test pipe in place I wouldn't put the bung in the test pipe itself. I'd have it put in the B pipe, just aft of the test pipe. That way if you ever have to take the test pipe out and reinstall a cat your rear O2 sensor will still have a place to live.

i'm using g20 ecu with my 98 se. It seems that it would take too much work to get rid of cel light. If i can spend about 50 bucks and get rid of those pesky light, I'm game. Now, the real question is, can it pass the emission check?
Um it will pass the OBD2 emissions check, but if they have a exhaust sniffer then I would say nope it will not pass. but different states have different inspections so im not sure.
Well, I had my test pipe built with 2 O2 bungs. One for the factory rear O2 sensor, which is a smaller bung. And the second one that is the same size as the front O2 sensor bung, this second one was for the wideband O2 sensor.
So far, 500+ miles, and no CEL!! I noticed about a 15% increase in exhaust noise after switching from the cat to the test pipe. At WOT the exhaust sounds buzzy now, which it didn't with the cat in place. As far as power gains go, I haven't dynoed a before with cat, and test pipe after run. But I noticed that when I heel/toe shift, the engine revs faster, which results in a slightly overrevving instead of rev-matching! . The engine feels like it lost a little tip-in response, and the tires won't break loose as much from a rolling start in first. It may be that the car is accelerating slightly faster, although my butt dyno can't really say for sure lol! Since the difference in response feels like the car is less torquey, I'm putting the cat back on in a couple of days, that way the car will drive smoother, and I will get my deep/throaty exhaust tone back and not sound like every other honda on the road!.
So it seems my 165,000+ mile factory cat really **isn't** too restrictive after all.
I tried that with no luck. Maybe my rear o2 sensor is bad. Can you disconnect the o2 sensor altogether and just put the resistor between the ground and signal wire?
