Coolent temp sen. PLS CHECK IT OUT...

OK.... i posted a thread a few days ago about how speedee fu*ked up my car by putting the wrong oil filter on. It blew off, leaving my car in a messy shamble. I had them tow it back, blah blah blah, long story short, after the secodn break down, i got finnaly pissed off, and took it back to them. It ended up having a few problems, and he said one of them was the coolant temp sens.

My question(s) are, if this sensor is bad... would it make my car not start at all?

He told me it was reading neg40 and threw my car into ultra rich mode over and over, flooding my injectors, and maki ng my oil dirty.

this sensor sit RIGHT ontop of the oil filter. When it blew, Could it of busted this sensor in the proccess? I am trying to figure out if it was just "somthing wrong with my car, not related to our fu*k up".

I ended up paying for a buncha sh*t, and that sensor 300 bucks. Plus 200 for the tow. Should i take it to someone else... and ask them if this is possible? Or.... just leave it alone, and say to myself... it works now, so whatever....

Um, $300 for that sensor? I think I paid about $20 to get one shipped off the forum.

YOU Paid for the tow when they put the wrong oil filter on it, and they nearly cost you a new engine? You need to grow a pair man, there is no way in hell I'd pay for the tow or the repairs when they screwed up my engine.

Yes, the coolant temp sensor can cause you to run rich, but it could have been damaged by the oil filter blowing off.. but I doubt it.

Crim has a coolant temp sensor issue on his NX, I don't remember exactly what he said it was doing, I think mostly idle issues but it would crank and drive IIRC.

$300 for the sensor? Wow, that is highway robbery on a whole new level. It isn't even hard to replace, you just need a 14mm deep socket. It isn't like it was a starter or an alternator (both are also easy, but do actually take a little bit of time and effort)
