B14's with highport swaps, post up.

Post up if you did the swap yourself. I may have a few questions on my swap.

USPS classifies Guam with the rest of the USA as far as shipping rates go...
Check UPS and see if they have USPS rates. Thank you.

I did mine w/ some friends. Pull the motor out, put yours in, swap over ALL the sensors from your usdm into the highport. Plug all the connectors back in, run the stock ecu. All the brackets for everything , ac, alt, ps streering, all bolt up. All the motor mounts line up. Everything is a drop swap sensors and plug in and your done. You do NOT need to pull the drivers side axle out, just the pass side where the 3 12mm bolts conect half of it.

If you are swaping a jdm in, you will have NO WHERE to plug in the EGR temp sensor, becuase of htis you get a CEL, because of your car being obdII you will fail if your cel is on. There are methods to get it off search for cel resistor method. If its a usdm HIGHPORT i do not know.

Here is a pic of the two plugs I am unsure of. One is on the motor, the other is on the starter harness.

The one plug is on the intake manifold....

And here are the money shots...Just not installed yet

She will be getting cleaned before the install...

The valve on the engine uses one of those plugs with the metal clip on it, there should be only one black one. The red one goes to the temp sensor, the black one goes to that.

The other one, I can't tell. I have an EGR plug somewhere in that neighborhood that is no longer hooked up, but I'm not sure.

IIRC The first pic is the sensor that control cold start, both of thos plugs plug into somehwere, all of nissans connectors can only go into ONE spot, so try everything until you find it.

Men I never thought it would be that complicated to swap a Highport on a B14. So meaning to say that there are no Lowport JDM de's? Only VEs and UK De,s. Thinking of having a swap as well. Cause I think the emmisions from my 98 lowport is not producing power compared to the 95-97. I'll keep up on this post.

I finally got my ride started yesterday and i am having hell of a time getting my idle steady. I forgot to plug one of the sensors in... that might have sometihng to do with the crap idle.

Does anyone know why we cannot use the JDM coolant temp sensor?? I am using the one from the USDM and it shorts out my fans...they will not turn on unless i have the sensor unplugged??? should i just get a new one or use the JDM??

My understanding is that you will need to use the US sensor for correct readings. As for the reason why, I have no idea.

When I swapped my sensors, there were no issues with shorting out the fans.

Maybe Andreas or some senior member can answer this one...
