PR CAI install problems

OK everything went great untill i tryed to fit the 2 pieces together...it seems like the section that goes through the fenderwell is too long by about 3 inches... hmmm has anyone run into this problem?? Should i cut the three inches off the lower section of the pipe??? help please

did you get the right intake for the right year?? reason im asking coz there's a low port and high port. i believe they're different sizes. correct me if i'm wrong.

I haven't. And yes, the highport and lowport have different applications (i.e. not the same PR CAI) Did you drill the opening correctly? My PR CAI fits perfectly behind my battery, no room to spare.

i cut a hole slightly larger by the battery just to make sure it'll fit.

yeah i got the right year and all its just the part that goes down through the fenderwell is a little too long. i will have to work with it some more maybe i routed it wrong or something thanks anyways

try to cut the hole for the CAI i little more to the front of the car, then you should be able to twist the pipe.

i was asking for my own knowledge... sorry. when the curve is in the fender well my Sensor dosnt reach the bung. when its reversed it does but then the filter dosnt fit. i think the hole needs to be widened.

I got the CAI installed finally it sounds and feel AWSOME!!! I ended up cutting the hole towards the front more and it fit great problem solved thanks for the help.

just about everyone i know with place racing CAI had this problem......which is why i went with hotshot CAI

I had no problem, you just have to make sure you cut the hole forward enough so that the angle on the pipe is great enough to fit in the wheel well.

unfortunately i don't have the 200 for a long while see as how my dad took it to georgia with him for his new job training which takes 12 weeks and he doesn't graduate till march 20 and i leave for boot camp march 18 so i won't have it til' tech school so i'm kinda pissed. i probably won't see the car till june/july hopefully. But i will call you sometime i wanna get a CSERT meet together in feb. if you got ideas let me know.
