SE-R Differences?

What are some visual differences in the engines between a base SE-R and a Spec-V?

I'll assume you mean B15s. There is no difference in the engines. The Spec V has a different muffler, bigger wheels, and a limited slip.

The valve cover says 2.5 on it.

Spec V has 17" wheels vs. 16" on the base SE-R. Also has 6 spd tranny vs. 5 spd.

Not to mention the cool little Spec V stickers...

Both the standard SE-R & the Spec V have the QR25. I think the HP difference is around 5-10 hp higher on the Spec V (tuned exhaust).

The factory said it is a 10 hp difference between the 2 165 compared to 175 I beilive. But if i remember correctly car and driver did a dyno between the 2 and saw negligible hp and tq differences. But the spec v has the badges which adds to aerodynamics and should also make up for the horsepower not seen in the dynos. (Wow thats a gay smiley face... but hes winking if you can't tell)

All I know is I drove a brand new Spec V about a month after they hit the lots (I have a connection at my local dealer). I honestly would not trade my 96 SE-R for one.

I accidentally bounce it off the rev limiter in first gear, and almost did it in second gear. It revs quick, but the redline is too low in comparison, so I think it would take all six gears to find the top end of my modded SE-R.

And the redline is something not-so-easily-modded on the new ones.

Plus, no DET swaps - so I still have the advantage
