Hey I have a question that has been bugging me. I know my car is limited which sucks. But the thing i cant' figure out is why can I accelerate up to around 85 with no problem but why does it seem like I have to struggle to get it up any higher. It even gets harder at 100. Does the limiter start to limit the fuel already at 85?? I can't figure it out. Am i right in my assumption or is it aerodynamics? The only mods I have that would affect speed is my air intake and my pullies, that is it.
Air resistance is exponential if I remember right. So yes above 85 or so with a relatively stock motor it's a bit harder for our cars to accelerate than below that speed it seems. Stick your hand out the window at 60, then 70, then 80, and so on and you can feel the wind resistance going up a LOT faster than the speedo numbers do.
Air resistance sucks. Although I had my Sentra doing 120mpg up 93 a few months ago. Inside the car it felt like 60 or so with plenty of room for more acceleration Whoops! wrong forum...
