Its a B14... did I say what engine ? Only a dumb person would inffer that its a SR20... SR20 has NO VTC spikes in the power band. GA16DE has variable valve timing thats why I got the spike in the power band. If someone her would be nice enough to fu*k OFF me for not selling him my turbo it would be nice. I dunno WHERE he got the idea I WAS selling it to him. Where I never offered it to him in the 1st place cause I knew he was broke.

Yes, my mom wrecked that car, and it was going to get all the cosmetic mods I ever wanted cause insurance would have paid for it, along with a SR20- the GA16 block cracked cause of the severity of the accident. They totalled the car. It was in IMACULATE shape. I bought her a 00 Altima, its under my name cause I got credit and she dont. Its nice and will be dynoed soon. My friend "almost" owns a dynojet hehe. Free runs yo !

Who the hell are you talking about? That spike looks more like a shift spike to me, but I'm just a banana covered monkey.

yea looks like an automatic shift to me. isnt the nissan varrible intake valve a little more progressive anyway. not like the instant on off of VTEC. I drove my friends 92 sentra xe and it didnt have any spike like that. and vtec spikes usualy are downward arent they? then they get real steep, atleast thats how all the civic and type r graphs ive seen done.

I have a dyno graph from Stefanie's old '93 XE, so when I get home, I'll post it. The spike on hers is in the same place, and it was a 2nd to 3rd shift. Her graph was almost the same, but a little lower numbers. Hmmmm, hers was a B13 and that one is a B14. Maybe the B14s are better cars. *ducking*

Its not a shift spike, I held the car in 3rd all the way to the redline in 3rd with the speed limiter disabled. See how the dyno starts at little over 4K RPMS ? its cause it would downshift into 2nd if I went lower. Shift spikes are WAY bigger than this. And yes this car has been massaged just a bit. Timing, airbox mod, and its had tune ups ever 5K miles with brand spanking new sensors and engine that looked like new.

As promised:

How did you disable the speed limiter? A quick look in my FSMs noted 3rd gear is good for 95-100MPH.

I'm not gonna tell ya all how to do it. Its very simple and the speedo still works. Its ILLEGAL to do thats why I'm not gonna tell U. I guess it sucks to be U. I also got a trick for the rev limiter too sure. Jizz ** dumb and dunno electronics...shieet thats why I work on electronic problem plagued German cars. Don't forget all Polaks are dumb

It's not a "VTEC" step, if it was the power would continue to climb from there not drop back down.

It's a blurp in the dyno run be it a shift or otherwise.

Uhh under WOT conditions HOW in the hell can U get a upshift at 5200RPM ? If I shift at the redline I get back to 4200RPM from 2nd to 3rd. Nissan Variable valve timing makes the powerband more smooth. Its mechanical all it does is retards the timing for top end. Its not to make more power, just more linear. GA16DE makes smooth power from 0-6900RPM. With a intake U can hear the valve timing change as more pronounced noise is coming from the intake. Also U can feel it kicking in. NISSAN VTC system works on the same principle as Audis and Porsches system. Its not as advanced as NEO VVL or VTEC, MIVEC or VVTi

hmmm well i can say ive never heard "the valve timing change" in any of my friends GA's. And ive even drove one a couple time with a weapon R intake. and by looking at steph's dynograph of her ga upabove, me dont see any spikes like yours. i see his shift at the start of 3rd im guessing since it should be 1:1 on the auto, at the start of the graph. where as yours has the first spike which i would guess is the shift but that second spike in the middle of the graph is unexplainable. cause these are two GA16DE cars here and one has a spike where as the other doesnt. which is which

I know that jay. read what the monkey wrote. the spike came from the GA16's variable valve stuff. just called it that for no good reason i think, or just me being lazy. who knows. but that does look mystriously like a shift but according to the monkey its not oh well
