where to locate chip?

i bought my 98 se-r about 2-3 months back.....many people are telling me that there might be a chip in it but not sure about it........where is the chip located in the car? and how could i tell if its the stock chip or not?...thanks again guys...peace

No such thing as a chip in these cars. Do a search for ECU upgrades, and you'll get all the answers you need. Basically our cars run off an ECU. It can be remapped, but not "chipped"

Look on top of the computer for a Jim Wolf stamp on it.

Well, you could just see if it revs to almost 8k..... if the fuel cuts out at around 7200-7300, most likely stock ecu.
