I have an exaust leak in the mid pipe i believe. It sounds like its coming from right under the driver seat. I can also see water dripping down. I feel a dramatic power loss. Would this have anything to do with it. My car is OB2 by the way.
water wouldnt be leaking from exhaust. you sure its not your ac? Also if it not the ac then i would check for cracked block.

Sure it would, when the car first starts up if its not run long enough you'll condensate in the exaust real bad.... Mine is leaking at the secondary to cat flange... yours sounds like its the same place as well, any exaust shop should be able to fix, cheap.

No its not a cracked block...I can assure you of that. I really hope an exaust leak can cause huge power losses. Or else I dont know what I am going to do.

bah...i had a exhaust leak awhile back.....lost to my friends gsr
got my leak fixed the next day, and smoked him that night...now it wasn't a dramatic differrence but it was something worth prolly 3-4 tenths in a 1/4 mile.
btw..it was the weld on the the HS header flange @ the cat, and i already had the flex pipe replaced cause it was buzzing like a mofo. HS sucks somtimes
I got the car jacked up and we think the header could be rusted out or there could be a leak where it connects to the flex pipe. But never mind that....we found a blown fuel pump fuse. Could this lead to my dramatic loss in power?
thats odd...because if your fuel pump fuse is blown then your car wouldn't run...part of the procedure for replacing the fuel filter requires u to take the fuel pump fuse out and start the car then it dies..then change the fuel filter...
The car just feels so god damn wierd. I give it gas and it doesnt go anywhere...it just makes a lot of noise. At idle i can push the throttle to the floor and take it right off and the rpm's bairly move. It reacts so slowly.
Hm if you are hearing something like that, and loss of power, you might have rod knock. Don't want to scare you, but that's what someone told me when I had an exhaust leak. My exhaust is leaking from both the primary and the cat-to-exhaust. I feel NO loss in power man.
how would ya know if u got a rod knock. my car idle's kinda lumpy right now...noticed it w/90 degree weather here so far. this happened yesterday after me and my gurl went to the outlets(bout 40 minutes from my place) and the ac was cranking all the way. after driving for a few hours i noticed it started getting lumpy so i turn the ac off and still does the same thing. now when it's hot and im not using the ac it still feels kinda lumpy. btw, i got 91 cams/jwt ecu/pr cai/courtesy catback on it right now.any thoughts?
Good job A.B. Ben if I were you I would check all things TIMING...EG-base timing, and cam "timing" (er whatever)...make sure you put the 91 cams in right, if not you'll ride rough.
solved the problem...well almost. runs strong again cleaned up the throttle body and intake manifold really good. readjusted the timing. just a slight rumble at idling. bringing it to my friend's shop on monday to check for vacuum leaks and probably install my walbro pump. i'm suspecting it's my pump not giving enough fuel or just simply a vacuum leak. installed the cams 2 years ago and it's been running smooth since i installed it.
