Need help with chosing coilovers

For my birthday/christmas my dad has offered to just give me cash, which i did not object to seeing that the words DET, VE and Tein are flashing through my head right now, so there arent many small things i would want at the moment. Anyway, I have decided to finish suspension work before going onto more power. The coilovers I am looking at are the Tein Basics, Tein SS's, JIC Magic FLTA1 and SF1, and Motivational's Coilovers. I'm not really considering the basics, but I felt like throwing it in there. What is the quality difference between these three companies? How does the strutlength compare? Any first hand experiences with these? I have my sights set on the FLTA1's right now, but I havent been able to find much info on JIC vs. TEIN or vs. motivational.

I also want some other things (gibson j45 rosewood acoustic ) and would consider going cheap on coilovers and getting ground control if I could be convinced that it is worth it. I dont think that I will go cheap though

You definitely want the shortened struts vs. an AGX/GC Combo if you're looking at Tein's & JIC...

I ask because most people think coilovers are the sh*t when it comes to handling. they spend all that money only to be impressed when they sit in my car with agx/H&R.

if that's not enough they are elated to sit in steve's car. Steve has been known to kick a few corvettes (yep z06) in the balls on road courses. they would sh*t a brick if they found out he doesn't run coilovers. And that brick would come out sideways when people find out steve runs shortened factory struts (he did it himself) on ERS springs factory front sway bar, adjustable rear sway bar and a bent rear beam (that he did himself).

Then to cool everyone down, if he's available, he will shorten your struts for you for about $375.

BTW he lives in newport news VA
