another timing issue

Well, with the help of Rob & se-r.net I checked my timing today. It seemed to be right on or just a tad to the left of the white mark. I followed all the instructions & once I got done & plugged the TPS back in my check engine light is on & won't go away. I've double & triple checked everything & it's still on. I'm gonna mess with it a bit more tonight & tomorrow to make sure it's at 15 but the light is killin me. I ran next to my brothers 92 accord from a stop & took him by a car or more by 45 mph. We then ran from about 20 mph on & he stayed with me till about 65 or so. I'm a little confused since his car has over 120,000 miles & no mods or anything & I'm running a 97 200sx se-r with header, cai, s4's, & JWT ecu. I would think I should go right past him, even from a rolling start. The only thing I could think is that the timing was off. WHO KNOWS!?! Anyway, if anyone has any clues on the check engine light let me know. Thanks,

Dennis

Well, I checked the ecu & figured out it's error code 0205, IACV/AAC valve. I guess I might have either accidentally hit it or something while messing with the TPS? Anyway, I'm gonna reset the ecu tonight & see what happens. I guess if there is still a problem the light would just come back on. We'll see what happens.

Agreed, your car should SMOKE him.

BTW, I know this is off the subject, but your engine bay looks incredibly clean and tight. Whats your secret and does the OBX header come with that coating?

Thanks man, it's probably not as clean when you're close up looking at it but I've just tried to clean little parts every so often, keep all the gunk off of it if I can. The header looks like that, or I should say looked like that the day after the install. Now it's got spots all over it, I'm gonna see what I can do to clean it up again this weekend. I mainly just read on here about simple green & a small amount of water. Seems to work pretty well.

You should have definitely walked him, even with a slight head start. My dad has a 93 i believe and is nowhere as fast as my car. Those dont even have VTEC.

Dennis, are you sure the OBX header and stock exhaust aren't choking the S4's?
