A note for those doing this:
A trick I used to avoid losing strands of wire when putting on the ring terminal is as follows:
This is a different wire, but should get the point across. (4 Gauge wire shown)
First, make sure the wire is trimmed at the top properly.
Then, measure the terminal you are crimping on.
Then cut 1/2 that distance with an exacto knife, being sure not to cut copper as best as possible. Slide that sucker off.
Then Cut the second half and slide it up the wire almost to the top.
Chase that sheathing back down the copper with the terminal.
Cut the sheathing from the base to the top, and peel it off
Slide the terminal the rest of the way, crimp, and sheathe.
I'm no electrician, but this sure made life easier for my battery relocation because wire stripper don't work on wire this big! I hope it helps you too.
