4th track day completed this last Friday

.
The weather was perfect, 70's from 11am to 5pm with some cloud cover and no rain. Only a few of the local friends made it and the total turn out for the day was about 20 cars. A good friend from Portland made it over with his T25 powered Sentra for his first ever track day at SRP and I'm sure he had a blast... right up to the point of cording that new hoosier tire

.
I spent the first part of the morning bedding in the new rear pads, the hawk blues, and relearning my braking points since I had a bit more braking force than before. The combination of the S13 MC and Z32 full brake setup with hawk blues all the way around has more rear bias than I need, the slightest bump in the braking zone or slip on my downshift and we got alot of rear lockup. The Z32 MC will be going on before Aug 10th.
The rest of the morning I spent giving my Portland friend a ride and riding with him, helping him pick up on the lines... which he picked up quickly. The afternoon I just had fun following or being followed by friends that were nice enough not to pass me on the straights

.
The JWT cams and loss of 120lbs helped me pick up 5-7mph on the front straight and for the car to just be that much more responsive on the track. I still need to boost the car to really enjoy it. The only cars that I could overtake was a cobra kit car and few BMW's driven by some first timers on this track. Of course the Cooper S's weren't pulling as fast away from me on the straights this time

.
My water temps never broke 175F throughout the day. Well see how that changes once the car is boosted though.
I gave several people rides throughout the day and got a few comments on how well the car corners and how well balanced the car was through the turns

. I must admit on a few occasions, once the tires started to get greasy, I had the back-end swing around on me and I was giggling. The car is so easy to control once the back end steps out it's not even funny

. I also learned on the tight 2nd gear turn, I shouldn't pass on the inside... I tried to keep the back end from swinging out, but all that happened was some crazy-mad drift through the turn and alot of counter steering to keep from looping it.
All in all it was a good day and I really really hope to have the Turbo and the Evo L seats in by Aug 10th...
