not worn out by any means. but if you beat on your brakes they will warp. it can happen the day after you replace your rotors. and since our rotors are very thin it very easy for them to warp.

the metal sounds you are hearing are most likely the splash sheild hitting the rotors. when you are installing rotors you grab the rotor when you put it on the hub to turn the wheel so you can get better access to the bolts for the caliper.......trust me you do it........this bends the splash sheild into the rotor causing the scrape sound (i do it every day lol) just use a small screw driver and pry it away from the rotor, it will go away i promise.

find a local shop and see if they will toss your front rotors on a "brake lathe" if you bring them in. they will machine the rotor dwn taking no more than .01 of an inch of metal off of the rotor making it true again.
