Yeah thats what I did. I think the cable might not be correctly connected, I know its not broken, and I took care to attach cluster end first and then tranny, but I will try again all the same.

As for the tach, its a mystery to me. I also dont understand why the ignition shorts if you use the signal wire from the coil to send signal to the cluster - its just a signal isnt it??

Anyways, if I cant rig it up right, I'll just rewire all the harness connectors back to stock, put back my crappy cluster, gut and fit my mini-tach into it, and have fun putting an electric speed sensor into the tranny and connect it back to my harness.

Ahh...if it ain't broke, don't fix it . Just FYI, I had originally (mistakenly) thought that a 91-92 tranny that came with a speedo pinion couldn;t take a 93-94 speed sensor, so after putting said tranny in my 94 car and having no speedo, I got a 91-92 NX2K cluster, speedo cable and pinion. I also got an electric sensor, since the one I had from my auto had a different number of teeth.

Now I wish I Kept It Simple, Stupid. lol
