For two reasons:
1) Mine had a plastic idle adjustment screw that was fuxored because it was too tight to turn and galled.

2) My idle was high and I wanted a clean IACV on there to eliminate that as a potential problem. I bought another one, cleaned it thoroughly with some degreaser, and installed with a new gasket. Not sure if this did the trick since I also replaced the CTS (coolant temp sender) to the ECU.
