I learned that the hard way this morning, I had all the motor mounts unbolted and the weight of the motor snapped the tow strap sending the motor crashing down and destroying a lot of sh*t in the process... Please for the love of God, go buy some chains the next time you do this... I can't emphasize this enough...

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. I used a 1000lbs rated Kevlar strap and made sure there were no rough surfaces touching it. Chains are a safer bet though, no doubt.
