installed my neo vvl. MSS confusion

Hey guys i installed my neo vvl. had the Greddy mss put in . i can toggle between 1 and 2 off and on setting under rpm mode. But the dial scrolls only one digit numbers at a time. thus i have to assume ie: on(1) 4 is the first cam on at 4000 rpm. or ie: on (2) 6 is second cam on at 6000 rpm. i have a 93 nx2000 5spd. for this model which is the correct rpm wire to use. It seems the people that did mine spliced into one (maybe) at where the ecu is. was trying to pull out wiring to take a look. very tight back there and was getting dark.
aside from that when i start the car, it will run for a few seconds then stumble off. the stock ecu is being used. i know i have to get a calum ve rom or realtime program - it is burning rich for sure. other than that it should still idle constant - so what could be causing it to stumble off?
Any knowledge one can lend would be greatly appreciated.
